Ranchi University has a strong Alumni base spread pan India and overseas. They have excelled in different dimensions in reputed institutions in the country and abroad. Few of them are in the lead role of the institutions/ establishments. Some of the alumni of the University are Judge in the High Court, I.A.S., I.P.S., V.C./Pro. V.C., Defense Services, Finance/Allied Services, Faculty members in all the Colleges and Universities in Jharkhand, University Professors and Head in many Universities in India, Director, Higher Education, Bihar and Jharkhand, Director, Tribal Research Institute, Eminent Doctors and Engineers, M.L.C., M.L.A, M.P. and Ministers, Principal of Numerous Colleges, Film Producer / Director, Actors, Athletes of National and International Repute, Chairman, JPSC, Member, BPSC, Class I officers in State Services, Director, Indira Gandhi Institute of Social Changes, Indian Forest Service, Registrar of many Universities, Bankers in RBI, Scheduled Banks, Multinational Banks, and countless dignitaries in different walks of life.

Alumni members have a strong affinity towards the institute and are always available for collaboration and development in academics and research and also in the placement of outgoing students in different organizations. They are also reaching out to our students and our faculty in designing outcome-based curriculum frameworks meeting the global standard. Many of the Alumni of Ranchi University belonging to different subjects have initiated sponsoring gold medals to the university toppers in the respective subjects, mostly in memory of their loved ones. Some of the Alumni members have contributed to the university by cleaning the campus and providing drinking water facilities. University Department of Botany has its Alumni Association registered under the Society Registration Act XXI, 1860 in the year 2017-18. Other departments of the university have functional Alumni association and their registration under the Society Registration Act XXI, 1860 is under process. Alumni play a significant role in the development and enrichment of universities. Alumni serve as effective role models for current students. Having faced similar challenges during their time at the university, they bring credibility and justification. By sharing experiences related to time management, financial management, self-discipline, character development, and career management, alumni inspire and guide students. Alumni serve as career mentors, provide expertise, perform knowledge sharing and enhance networking, help collaborate with industry and expand research and innovation networks.
